The Spear Fisherman

This man was looking out over the rock platform at Newcastle Beach and then hauled in his catch. Here he is holding it up. It looked to be a rock cod perhaps and another fish although I am not very good on fish identification. A funny flat light this evening. His mate who is out of frame had the most amazing tattoo on his face. Very much like Maori facial markings (ta moko). I only wish I had had the courage to ask him if I could take his photo. If I ever see him again.....
