Barred...
...a quick blip this morning, seen as I was beetling round town. The fortifications looked fairly new and very efficient, I worked out it was the back of one of the banks in the centre of town! I'm surprised nobody waved to me!
Came home and more beetling round, a knock on the door. This usually means a neighbour as I live in a small apartment block on the ground floor and any visitor has to use the video entry system. However, I opened the door to find a well dressed elderly man I've never seen before, with a walking stick , looking worried and told me his name was Fred.
Just to explain, I live on a long road with large houses, some of which have been turned into apartments. Just up the road there is also a rather nice and no doubt expensive care home.
I brought him in and sat him down and we had a conversation of sorts. After a while it dawned on me that Fred had probably 'escaped' from the nursing home, and somehow managed to get here.
Anyway, I persuaded him to come with me and we shuffled up the road together to the care home. I rang the bell and he looked pleased to see the guy that opened the door so all was well. Still don't know how he managed to 'escape' and get here having to cross a sometimes busy road, but he's back home again and all is well.
