Aborted a trip to a London Constructing Excellence Club event near Old Street.

I set off in plenty of time, catching a ThamesLink train on the Greenwich Line, but the train ran slowly then ground to halt outside London Bridge and didn't move for around 20 minutes. I gambled that the signalling problems that were causing the delay were passed, but there were further delays, so rather than continue to Farringdon (and with the meeting already started), I aborted the journey at Blackfriars and headed for home.

However, the ThamesLink issues continued. Returning to London Bridge, the ThamesLink train I was on was held up awaiting a relief driver, but a broken-down ThamesLink train on the adjacent platform was delaying the arrival of that driver on the service behind. Switched to a SouthEastern service to finally get home.
