Lloyd Center Mall

In 1964 this shopping mall opened. The first of its kind in Oregon, replete with commercial stores selling clothing, footwear, etc and featuring an ice skating rink. It’s been remodeled yet again and the ice rink brought up to date. Many storefronts are shuttered. It’s clear that brick-and-mortar retail has suffered with the advent of online shopping. Nevertheless, there were many folks in the enclosed mall on this cold wet Spring day in the Northwest. The theme of white tiles a respite from grey skies.
