Open Water

Woke up at 630 to the rocking of the boat, down to breakfast for 730 and then straight in the water for the assessment dive!

We were to lead Levi the instructor on a dive, bit it didn't go to plan at all. When we were given the go ahead one of the girls was already on her turnaround pressure, so there was a lot of confusion about if we should go somewhere or turn around. Ended up going nowhere much and it was all a mess, but we didn't do anything dangerous, the whole dive was safe, so we passed.

I was a bit peeved after the dive but now as fully certified and competent divers we could go in instructor free! Victor, Andrea and I were the buddy "three", we went down for about 30 minutes to a max depth of 17m. It is crazy how much of the reef we can now appreciate, not having to focus on doing tasks or assessments.

After this we transferred back to the other ship, set off back to cairns 1hr 30min and so choppy. I knew I needed a good meal after exposure to the sea and wind so I wandered into town for a meal at the courtyard. Waiting for it now.
