Queen on her Throne

My river Swan is getting on the long job of sitting her eggs,  enduring, as we  all are the Baltic cold. I've gone back into long sleeve/leg thermals and put the 2nd duvet back on my bed !.  Note how her nest of willow twig is sprouting.
I did the river round this morning, chatting to the hawk and owl trust volunteers watching the cathedral peregrines. The Peregrine's take it in turn to sit the eggs unlike the Swans : she sits all the time and stands a distant guard.
