Flicker in the rain

Yellow shafted northern flicker- spotted by the elder daughter hanging out on the weeping cherry in the front yard. He must have been relatively protected from the rain there because he stayed quite a while. In between the downpours he was poking in the lawn for something to eat. I was surprised that he didn't take off when I went out on the porch to get his photo. So he has a slightly different angle in extras that shows his yellow shafts much better.
The red in the background is my husbands car.
