Deciding to walk

This stretch of sea is home to schools of dolphins. The idea is that you stand and scan the water with your binoculars to catch sight of them, either just their dorsal fins, or if you are very lucky the entire body as it breaks the surface and is transiently airborne. 

For a long while they stayed out of sight. I gave up and as it was very cold took a few photographs like this one and went indoors to the observation lounge to watch the scene on screen courtesy of cameras equipped with powerful lenses mounted on the roof. The dolphins did eventually make an appearance.
