Fief St. Michel
Another very wet day, I got fairly drenched in my travels to and from work.
My blip today follows on the same topic as yesterday. This blip is the location of the court of St. Michel, at the entrance to the Catel Church. This court also met outside the Vale church. The French abbey of Mont St. Michel held land in the Vale, Castel, St Saviours, St Peters, Torteval and Lihou island. The fief was confiscated from the church by the Crown during the Hundred Years War, around 1396.
The seats on either side of the door look rather narrow, they must have had small officials in those days !
