A tribute
Today's picture was, obviously, not taken today. It is a photo I took of the Notre Dame of Paris in may 2017, when we were lucky enough to live in Paris for a while. Our apartment was on the Ile St.Louis, a stone's throw from the Notre Dame. We used to pass it all the time and visit occasionally, usually when we had guests. I am sorry now that I did not spend more time inside the building - we were always scared off by the masses of tourists. Yesterday we watched in horror, like the rest of the world, how the flames rose up high above the ceiling and we saw the spire collapse. It is in tribute of this magnificent building that I chose this picture today to share with you.
