The Upper Bell

The Upper Bell is in Bluebell Hill village which is at the top of Bluebell Hill - doesn't that all sound like a fairy tale setting? This pub suffered when the main A229 bypassed the village and the slip road from the village to the southbound track was closed. Without passing trade this boozer was always going to be doomed - the village is not big enough to support a pub. On my way here I went through Eccles, a village we used to live in, and was sad to see that The Walnut Tree was gone; knocked down and the site redeveloped.

Wednesday is dipping below the horizon; use the last remnants of it to get ready for Thursday!
