Take a seat... or six!
Yet another poor night's sleep last night, too much going on I think.
Up this morning and over to A's in time for crunch time. Closing date was set for noon today for the sale of her house, less than two weeks since she put it on the market.
They had several offers and have got a very good price. Now the search is on for their new home.
We went out for lunch, then a mooch around some shops. C and I bought a lovely oak dining table about six months ago but have failed to find any chairs to go with it, so the table has frustratingly remained unused and in pieces while we continue to use our old one, which is a very nice dark rosewood table, so not too much hardship, it's just not what we want any longer.
Today I found two sets of oak chairs which I really liked, C came to check them out, we made our choice and they are being delivered on Tuesday. In spite of appearances in the blip,, they do not have red backs! Now we just have to get rid of the other set. Gumtree stand by!
Popped in to see our now retired rector and his wife this afternoon. They are looking forward to a move too, in mid June. Nice to catch up with them both.
I spent this evening taken action in response to comments that the blood orange and clementine marmalade I made last week was both too sweet and not well enough set. It is now reboiled with the juice of two lemons added, and repotted, hopefully it is now up to standard! I like it anyway.
Church tomorrow, I'm leading the communion service at 10.30, but the building work has started at last and apparently the inside is very dusty. So I'm setting off early to get there, with others, for 9.30 with dusters and hoover so we can try to make things respectable again. Here's to a good night's sleep.
