You poor take courage, you rich take care...
It was my birthday today and I got many fine greetings and presents. Amongst the latter were notably a lovely wee wren and a book that I bought with my brother's book token. It's "Moro", by Sam and Sam Clark, which follows the year in the life of an allotment site in East London. Unfortunately the Manor Gardens allotments were "bulldozed in 2007 to make way for the 2012 Olympics."
As Leon Rosselson put it in his song "The World turned upside down"....
You poor take courage, you rich take care
This earth was made a common heritage for everyone to share
All things in common, all people one
They were dispersed: only the vision lingers on.
Yes, yes.
