Slánlus: Ribwort Plantain
What a glorious day! We have been hard at it in the garden which is looking pretty gorgeous. Tony has been helping us and kept at it while we were in New Zealand so it looks almost under control. He was hacking back a bit of gunnera, I was digging beds and Himself was sorting out some trees. Most satisfactory.
The swallows have arrived and this was the second orange tip butterfly I pursued, looking rather subtle on the Ribwort Plantain - which I can enter for Miranda1008's challenge re wildflowers. Plantain is edible and you eat the florets, apparently they taste like mushrooms. Also the plant is excellent for rattlesnake bites - none here, thank you St Patrick.
Talking of saints - yesterday's challenge was of course St Michael. Talpa was the first in with the correct answer - well done to you. He, St Michael not Talpa, does have a somewhat effeminate air but see extra for who he was tackling, with hardly a bother on him.
