Dove of peace

Went to visit a 90 year old friend in the hospital this evening. Rode my bicycle because it was so warm. Lovely evening. Hadn't taken a shot yet today. As I rode past the hospital entrance, I noticed Nutcracker soldiers guarding the doors. Took several shots. Then noticed through the windows the doves flying above the food court. Spent several minutes quietly framing and shooting the three doves. Silent Night.

As I walked from the doves, a multigenerational Hispanic family roared into the space. Kids laughing with glee at the stockings above the fake fireplace. The tall tree decked out in tensile and globes. Wonderfully wrapped packages below the tree.

Then I walked to my friends room. IVs to raise blood levels. Meds to combat problems. Leg manipulators to minimize risk of blood clots. Talk of his family coming. He even mentioned the possibility of being sent home for hospice.
