Dreamily across the Tyne
It's been a beautiful day here today.
We started a bit later than usual, but Mum had a bath, using the new bath seat, and was ready when Jenny and Dennis came to see her at 11. I left them chatting over coffee about their recent visit to Germany.
Their daughter, Kate, is a hospital manager and has recently slipped on the highly polished hospital floor in a corridor, breaking a thumb and tearing ligaments around her knee. It's no wonder patients worry about falling over on these shiny surfaces! Poor Kate. (She is definitely one of the good guys amongst the managers.)
I had a quick walk by the river at Acomb after lunch. My images were not very exciting, but I quite like the dreamy effect of this landscape, taken from the east bank of the Tyne at the Meeting of the Waters.
This afternoon, we met a new potential carer for Mum. She has come recommended and we need more than one person for when Sharon is not available. We have booked some slots and are very hopeful that this will all work out to everyone's satisfaction.
Early this morning, Margret (next door) brought her new walking poles. They are Black Diamond, like mine, but have a new, improved catch which is not intuitive to use. After faffing about, I asked YouTube and there was, of course, a video to explain what to do. Great hilarity but a satisfied friend!
