The Erection of the Cross

This morning’s walk had the gravity of the day hanging over it. And as I moved through my list of things to do, the mood changed very little. It wasn’t until the three o’clock hour this afternoon that some normalcy returned.

A picture book by Gustave Doré provided an illustrated walk through the day’s events. Though my wife has had it in her possession for some time, it didn’t touch me until today.
