Dear Diary,

I said yesterday that I hadn't gotten a good photograph of my newly returned Purple Finch yet and I think they must have heard me because a pair came and perched on Auntie's Tree and posed beautifully for me.  They sat for quite a long time to be sure I got the photograph too.  This one seems to be striking a Rudolph Valentino-like pose.  They also seem to have been nibbling the buds on the tree!  No matter, it matches their feathers perfectly!

I saw my first flower yesterday, a little purple crocus!  What a wonderful sight that was! (extra)
