Like a Fish

Like a fish

Like a fish.
That’s how I drink these days.

I’m listening to Matt Maltese as we float high above the English Channel, horizon bleeding seamlessly onto the blue and tranquil sea. Do the French call this the French Channel? I hope so.

I’ve just finished Ali Smith’s ‘Winter.’ It’s a fine novel. Interesting. Challenging. The energy between the two sisters pretty much plays out in our recent European ‘fall on our sword’ election when we opted to leave. I felt the novel leant very much to the pro-European vote being the enlightened one. It’s the one I adopted, but, and it’s a big but, why are we so quick to condemn the wise and older in years as though their experience is to be sniffed at in favour of the wet behind the years youth? I genuinely love my country. Our United Kingdom too. I love it for its depth of diversity. I hope that we can make our country fairer, kinder.

Up here in the sky, everything is possible.
