just some whale watching

We spent today's class doing whale transects (recording a whale population in a given area) and doing photo ID. This particular time of year down in Bahia Magdalena is popular for tourists looking to do some whale watching. While we were doing our photo ID's for class, we came across this boat along with two others.

The whales were amazing today. We saw a mother and a calf, both of which came very close to the boat, and even swam under it.

They are magnificent creatures.
