All human life is here
Well, not here precisely - I'd be surprised if any functioning humans were in this building at the time I took the photograph. This is the Senate House, the building used for university ceremonies such as awarding degrees, posting exam results or enacting statutes.
What I actually mean is that all human life can be found on this road somewhere. Starting from the geographical centre of Cambridge it connects Cambridge to Trumpington and at various points along its length is known as Senate House Hill, King's Parade, Trumpington Street, Trumpington Road, High Street Trumpington and Hauxton Road. On its way it passes various University buildings, posh housing, cheap housing, a golf course, a museum, the botanic gardens and many other things. And, given that I live close to one end and work close to the other I travel this street frequently.
So with an increasing number of my contacts getting involved with Kendall is here's One Street project, and with me not wanting to get left out, this seemed to be an obvous street to pick. Cheeseminer seems to be concentrating on the Trumpington end of it so I may as well start at the Cambridge end and it starts here. Senate House Hill can't be longer than about five metres but manages to house the Senate House, the Church of Great St. Mary's and the geographical centre of Cambridge.
Given that I spend so much time to-ing and fro-ing on this street I've already blipped it extensively:
