Look of Love
Woke up to the smell of Sam searing the lamb... which, after roasting for several hours in champagne, garlic and rosemary, won him the accolade from the Padre that he cooks as well as an Alentejano; the highest praise from people who are convinced their cooking is the absolute best.
Allegra's cake was made by an Alentejana, and was superb; it had a kilo of home ground almonds and carrot in it, and Allegra was delighted with the unicorn with its multi-coloured strands of hair, butterflies and flowers on a bubble-gum pink (and flavoured) icing. See her Mummy's Blip for a better look.
Eating outside was a challenge, as the wind was blowing a gale, but inside would have been even more of a challenge... we did come in for the cake, though; the candle would not have coped.
Gratefuls:
- that it all went well in the end
- the lovely friends we have here, who helped celebrate our granddaughter's third birthday (see above Blip's extra for view of them)
- the Easter vigil we've just come home from, tracing the story of salvation from Genesis to the gospel of Luke
And, a very Happy Easter to you all, may it be a fresh start for you!
