New York - Day 2

A rather wonderful day. My daughter's 20th birthday. Out to start our first day of using the New York City Pass, and up the Top of the Rock early, with no queues at all. The weather was stunning as were the views. This was followed by the Big Bus Open Top bus tour through the city to orient ourselves, and decided to explore Central Park and head for the Met and the Guggenheim. The former had some amazing art, and a great exhibition of instruments owned by famous musicians, and the latter had the great architecture but nothing of interest in it. Wandered over to Strawberry Fields and the Dakota Hotel, and then back to the hotel via Columbus Circle, where we found an interesting underground market and food area which we returned to quite a few times after. Back to the hotel via our new supermarket: Gristedes. Wife and daughter arrived later having been to Sprinkles cupcake store, and Time Square after dark. The day ended with a bonus as I realised that HBO had the premiere of Season 8 of Game of Thrones on at 9pm (2am UK time) so watched that to end the day.
