Low water springs
We were supposed to be racing back today but the fantastic weather everyone has been enjoying unfortunately meant not enough wind to start. And even if we had it would have died again mid channel.
Instead we used the iron headsail and motored the 70 miles home. It was quite dull but very nice to see the Needles in daylight.
You'll see from the tideline it is almost the lowest point of a very big spring* tide.
*Nothing to do with the season but something that happens twice a month when the gravitational pull of the full and new moon generates the biggest tidal range.
