Worth The Wait

C's main reason for wanting to come back to the lodges at Eskdale was to fulfill her dream of a picnic on the island in the pond! Nearly 3 years later her dream came true. Armed with a picnic blanket, picnic basket, sandwiches, cake and lemonade, J & C headed out on the raft for a peaceful lunch, whilst A & I sat on the picnic bench in the sun.

Overall it's been a pleasantly lazy Easter Sunday with a walk up the valley this morning, paddle in the steam then back for said picnic.

My afternoon has mainly consisted of lying on the sun lounger with a book. C cancelled my bike ride in favour of me taking her down to the river but at least I got a swim.

Chicken pie and Christmas pud for tea, a tradition in my family owing to my dad's compulsion to buy reduced puddings post Christmas! This one is homemade though.
