do you have someone - in your life - who you’d do anything for - including giving up your own life - because that’s just how much - you love them - they are your everything, right?

well, that’s how jesus feels - about us and why - he died on the cross - for us so many years ago - he just couldn’t imagine life - without us in it - he considers us his own - wants to spend every moment - with us and so he gave - his very life so we could live - in eternity with him - his death gives us hope - and it made me think - of a hymn my grandmother - used to hum when she lived with us - called ‘in the garden’

i come to the garden alone
while the dew is still on the roses
and the voice i hear falling on my ear
the son of god discloses.
and he walks with me, and he talks with me,
and he tells me i am his own;
and the joy we share as we tarry there,
none other has ever known.
