Clematis
A blip of this clematis before it goes over. It's been nipped a bit, I think by frost, over the last week or so - just enough to turn the edges of some of the petals brown. I can't recall that happening in previous years. Still, this is the best it has been. By the time it's over, the ceanothus (just seen in the top left of the image) will be fully out - a more intense, almost startling, blue, and, like so much this year, earlier than usual.
