Centre chaos coming to an end?

The town centre in Romsey is in a bit of a pickle at present. Sure, the powers that be assure us that eventually all will come good and the result will See big improvements for both drivers, cyclists and shoppers. The idea is to change the traffic flow, slow it down and create an expanse of paved area as an open leisure area by the statue of former Prime Minister Lord Palmerston who lived in the town.
The planners tell us it will enhance the town centre, in keeping with the historic character of the town.
Let’s hope so, Romsey folk have had to put up with disruption long enough. Still, work is scheduled to be completed by the summer!
