Wild violets
Aaaargh - seems that yesterday's endeavour wasn't entirely successful! The paper we hung on one wall of the living room seems to have shrunk horribly, leaving big, uneven gaps. The only solution is to take it off that wall and start again. C'est la vie...
Last week, MrM (who admits that he doesn't mind living in a building site nearly as much as I do) booked himself a day's fishing for today, and set off for Redesdale this morning. I didn't have the energy or inclination to re-do the living-room wall so, after doing three loads of washing, I went up to the Common. Another gloriously hot, sunny day, and it was very good to be out after being stuck in the flat for the last couple of days. The walk made the little man in my step counter happy - he's jumping up and down with joy as I did more than 10,000 steps for the first time in a while.
Very little wildlife to be seen (too noisy on a BH Monday), apart from a tiny moorhen chick hiding in the reeds on the pond. Lots of wild flowers, though, and the air was filled with the scent of gorse and wild cherry blossom. I sat for a while under one of cherry trees (extras), listening to the bird song and to the buzzing of bees in the blossom.
About to spend a while in the yard before preparing a meal, ready for MrM's return...
