Heliopolis

Backblipping...

Much needed change of scene today when we headed to the area of Heliopolis for a little explore and lunch.   President Sisi lives here, just 5 minutes walk from here, and we were able to walk round the block and see his residence from the other side of the street, but of course couldn't take photos.   Heliopolis has a feel of grandeur of better days in Cairo and still a well-heeled area.   We then headed to a jazz concert, a decision made at the last minute, to a concert which wasn't advertised, in the American University of Cairo.  Tickets were 100LE, so about 5 euros and he's one of the world's renowned trumpeters - Erik Truffaz, if anyone's interested in googling him.  Amazing value, only added to by it starting half an hour late and a street cat getting into the theatre!   Have added an extra of the trumpeter. Probably only around 200 in the audience.
