noun - crackling or hissing noises

Curves & straight lines - opposites.

Static - Well I'm certainly not static, got far too much to do, more than enough to do, in fact, I need more hours in the day, or perhaps I should just sleep less. I'm sat here trying to work out how I'm going to get everything done in the garden & allotment before the wet stuff falls out of the sky on Thursday, that's if the met office have got it right.
Back home last night so this morning, a couple of loads of washing done & on  the line, fetched the paper, bumped into one of the Coop staff on his way to work, so we stopped for a yarn discussed customer service etc, poor bloke does'nt know if he's on his ass or his elbow. He's a floater, lives in Chudders, works in the local branch, but goes wherever else  they need him, he does'nt drive, so the company either pay his bus or taxi fares.
Sat having a coffee when I spotted a new visitor to the garden, a cute little mouse, I think it's a Wood mouse. It was scooting out from between my plant trays, nibbling away on the bird food, then whizzing back the moment a bird appeared. Hilarious! The more the merrier, not necessarily mice, or house sparrows come that, they are enjoying the dust bathing in my new border, scattering the soil into the little pond that I've recently installed, making the water murky for the 3 goldfish that hubby bought, but I do love seeing the wildlife in the garden. The blackbirds are still around but can't work out if they are still nesting in the garden. Blue tits  are in the nest box so hopefully we will see the young when they fledge.  Weeded the new flower beds, one seedling hard to identify, don't recognise  it, so reckons it's a weed but have left one to grow on. The strong colours are beginning to come together. The dark plum parrot tulips have opened, 3 of the four  orange Fritillaria imperiallis are flowering, & the Euphobia purpureus are absolutely zinging. I planted some Houseleeks & Sedum Vera Jameson in between the brickwork on the edge of the border so they should fill out nicely and give a good show. I'm noting plants that I would like to add as I see them flowering, plus Cassiesmum gave me a lovely dark blue Salvia 'Amistad' which will fit in perfectly with my Jewelled theme. Hark at me!!!
Lunch was homemade duck liver & orange pate with some black olives. I've been using the same basic recipe for years, well since I lived in London and used to buy a tub frozen chicken livers, & fresh sweetbreads from a local butcher. The pate recipe was on the tub of chicken livers. Just bog standard chicken liver pate, which I adapt to whatever I have around, herbs/booze/livers, chicken or ducks/orange peel. It's so easy to make & freezes perfectly. I always used duck livers in Thailand, for some reason ducks were cheaper than chickens, which I could never understand considering the amount of fresh chicken processed.
Nipped down to Mums this afternoon, took her a couple of plants for the garden, had a catch up over a coffee, then got our sun loungers out of the loft, a bit musty but I'm sure a good shake and wipe off will sort them out just in time for the rain forecast later this week. A job for hubby tomorrow when I'm out the DPHT perhaps .. time will tell. I went up to Chudleigh Knighton heath to photograph the pylons for today's challenge. I qoute liked the idea of the circular glass things (very technical) against the straight taut wires.
Back home to make dinner. The boys from the pub went out fishing from Teignmouth on Saturday, & promised hubby a couple of plaice of they caught any .. :) So tonight we had plaice. I hate the smell of fried fish odours lingering in the house so normally bake fish, I WAS going to pan fry the whole plaice but changed my mind, and baked them as well. Beautiful and sweet, plaice have a taste all of their own. Very enjoyable.
Now we're talking about planning a holiday. Somewhere hot, & not expensive. There are some good flight/ self catering deals to Greece. I like Greece, I like the vibe. We've had some memorable times on a couple of the Greek islands. Could be off to Greece.
Thanks to Tryfan46 for hosting mono Monday
