Mini Relay!
It was the final day of the JK Orienteering Festival today and traditionally Relay Day. It's also tradition for the youngest competitors to go off first and much enjoyed by the spectators. These are the first leg runners (under 12s) for their teams (three orienteers in a team) heading off in the mass start. They will do a course in the forest and then come back to the arena to hand over to number 2, and then number 3. Great fun to watch.
I wasn't running today but Tony ran with clubmates Sue and Tony T and they finished 3rd in their class, woo hoo! We stayed for the prize-giving and for me to photograph the class winners, but then there was a problem with the results of several classes so they didn't present his class! So it was the long journey home through congestion on the M25 and 20 odd miles of restricted speed on the M1. I think tomorrow will be a relaxed day.
