Peace Lily

I am not known for my green thumb. In fact, I have only one living plant in my house, all the rest are artificial. And that one live plant is a peace lily that was given to us at my father-in-law's memorial service in 2004. Every now and then, it even has a bloom or two. And this is one of those times!
I wonder how it got the name Peace Lily. I think the flower looks like a spiked club!
