getting syc-a-more rain
...after another day of continuous rain, the pitter-patter on our roof has finally finished and we should get a dry day for our drive to South Wales tomorrow.
During a period of less heavy precipitation, I went up to Langton Matravers with the intention of capturing the next in my One Street series. I am not sure why, but something drew me into walking up past Spyway Barn to see how wet the coastal downs are after this latest deluge. My walking boots and trousers bear testament to the fact that they are very wet and muddy indeed. Several new ephemeral rivers have sprung up and walking across the pastureland is like squelching through a sponge!
As I squidged back, I noticed this sycamore, with the Purbeck ridge in the background, and thought it would make an interesting subject with the next bout of heavy rain just starting to fall. Langton can be seen in the middle distance on the left.
Our holiday cottage in the Gower does not have internet so I will be relying on my iPhone (assuming we have a signal). Consequently, blips and comments may be erratic over the next week or so...
