A friendly wave.
Called to welcome our friends back to Yorkshire, after living in Spain for 15 years.
Their new ground floor apartment has a lovely view of the Calder and Hebble Navigation.
What a perfect spot.
A and I took our coffee outside to watch the boats pass by.
A friendly wave from this young man.
The boat is owned by The Land - Water company, which was started 40 years ago., by two people passionate about caring for the our coastline and the nation’s network of rivers streams, wetlands and waterways.
They are doing some work for the Canal and River Trust. Dredging various flood gates between Wakefield and Brighouse.
We also had a beautiful thrush which flew down on to the lawn to dig for worms. Didn’t seem to mind us at all.
And spied a robin, and bluetit.
I think it will be a great spot for birds.
So glad to see them settling in well. They certainly brought us some great weather.
Although it has been cooler today, and not as sunny.
Hard to remember it is still April.
Happy St George’s Day.
