Red, gold and green
A green woodpecker that visited the garden today and jumped about pecking holes in the lawn while I was singing my head off in the kitchen*. I expect she was enjoying the music and having a little dance.
I'm pretty sure it's a female. I think the males are more showy (aren't they always?), and have a red flash under the cheek.
(Do they have cheeks???)
It was taken through the window on full zoom in terrible low light so a bit crappy.
Still... Could be worse...
It was worse actually.
I tried to take some pics of flood water through the car window with my iPhone earlier and they are very worse. Much worsererer.
Took a final trip to the supermarket today (I've already thought of 3 things I've forgotten), so hopefully we're Christmas-ready-ish-very-ish now.
Kind of.
Lots of rain last night and today. Too much bloody water everywhere.
*For the sake of posterity, I've come back to point out that I wasn't just singing, I was doing loads of tidying-up and shopping-putting-away and dashing around like a mad thing, and had music playing to keep me sane.
