Fifty Shades of Green
Mother Nature has been busy in the past few days, painting the landscape in every imaginable shade of green. Everything is burgeoning (except for the sheep, which have been shorn) - the barley is showing seed, the grass is knee high and ready to cut. I noticed a Chestnut yesterday bedecked with its floral candles already.
It had rained throughout the night - or at least at all those points in the night when I was awake, it was raining. This morning dawned grey and chill. We were up early in order to go and sort out insurance for the new car so Nell took her Dad for a very quick trot out in the rain. It turned out that deliveries were on their way to us and so I stayed at home whilst the boss went out to Bussiere-Poitevine.
Delivery no 1 was a new Fitbit for the boss, who really has got into his stride with this weight loss and fitness thing. Delivery no 2 was for those more restful moments: we ordered a pair of sun loungers last week when the temperature was in the mid-twenties. We can only apologise to friends and neighbours for the downturn in the local weather, which must surely be our fault for being so very rash. The new chairs are in the sitting room and waiting for better weather. The forecast does not suggest that it will be along any time soon.
The sun did emerge for a while this afternoon and we took Nell out for another walk to make up for her short one in the rain this morning. I grabbed this Blip on the way home.
Dusty is not impressed with the current weather. Rain is new to him. He doesn't rate it very highly.
