Leaving Shire

Today visited the turf farmhouse museum at Glaumbaer, Iceland, while my wife was having a riding tour with Icelandic horses. The turf-made houses made me think of Hobbiton and Shire (pity that the doors and windows were not round). Incredible that they still lived in the farmhouse in 1947, and the museum was started when they abandoned the farmhouse.
