Serious Street
The old chemist shop on Istergade was long since converted to a bar/café. Looks about as light hearted as a Brexit debate but I liked the scene.
Istergade is the most cosmopolitan street we have in Copenhagen and well worth a visit when you're here. Two kilometers long and not a single chain or brand name to be seen. Tattoo parlours, porn shops, prostitutes, topless bars, drug users; yes but no known "names". Once you get past all that, there are a bunch of restaurants, one of which will be Michelin starred soon (I think) as well as various designers of jewlery and clothing. It was also the home of the previous King's favourite bar (Spunk)and the last stand against the Nazis.
