A Fire Exit Birthday, London
Had one of those days where you just get angrier and angrier and more pissed off as the day goes along. The swearing was off the scale.
Work is stressful enough without workflow problems just getting worse as the week has gone along. It always starts with an e-mail asking for my post photography shelves to be cleared - nothing is done. I ask again - this time with Highest Priority - nothing is done. I get my boss involved and it goes up to someone higher in the food chain, some stuff is moved but it soon builds up again. It's the same story that has worked out over years and years and boils down to exactly the same problem - not enough staff. It's like hitting your head against a brick wall over and over again, ad nauseam.
Then began the shit journey home - which involved a missed connecting train by 20 seconds. The next train was then over ten minutes late (after a wait of fifteen minutes) due to a late running freight train which then, of course, broke down. We then had to get off that train (it couldn't go anywhere) and go over the footbridge back to the same platform I'd left half an hour before. This train was then also slow. I just wanted to let out the mightiest "ARRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" I possibly could have but managed to, just about, restrain myself. As, I finally, got off at my station it began to rain. Bloody, sodding, perfect!
The only, slight high point was spotting today's shot at lunchtime.
