ANZAC Day...

..  the New Zealand and Australian flags are lowered together. at the ANZAC Dawn Service  which is conducted by the Te Arawa Maori Returned Services League .  It is held at the Muruika War Cemetery at Ohinemutu on the shores of Lake Rotorua and is the burial place for many of the Returned Servicemen of the 28th Maori Battalion.   It was a very moving service, particularly the singing of the Maori Hymn Aue Ihu by a combined Secondary Schools Choir.
At the end of the Service we turned and looked across a very peaceful and beautiful scene (extra)    Lest We Forget
