"It's a Big World"--Plover Chick

This is a piping plover chick, taken on my first visit to Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary (Massachusetts Audubon) in June 2005. I returned several times that summer and many times since. Allens Pond became my favorite place for bird photography, and this is one of the really special images that I have taken there. It appears on the cover of a wonderful calendar for 2013, designed by a fellow member of my photography club, which we are mailing out this week (December 2012).
