Anzac Day

I normally go to the dawn service if I am in Newcastle on Anzac Day.  Today I didn't feel like coping with the 50,000 predicted crowd and so just went to the march and service in Civic park.  I always find these services moving.  This was one of the catafalque party.  Not as stylised as I have seen and I caught this chap surreptitiously looking around instead of being statue like.  The veterans are getting older now, I remember when I was a kid seeing the Gallipoli veterans marching.  We have said goodbye to all of them now and the WWII guys are in their 80's.  Always a time to reflect on sacrifices, values and mateship.  Lest we forget.
