Had a chat with my new best mate, Chris.

I mentioned that I’d started reading him again after seeing him talk at last year’s book festival in Dunbar.

He pointed out that it was actually two years ago.

He added that he wouldn’t be able to make it this year because he’d be on holiday. Then without missing a beat, he mentioned that his new book would make good holiday reading. Dark holiday reading.

He didn’t need to convince me. I’d already bought a copy.
