I went to my first Edinburgh Green Party meeting. The meeting was very interesting. We had a panel discuss various aspects of the climate emergency. I am pleased to hear that a carbon tax and dividend is being considered. The idea is that climate gases are taxed, including embedded CO2. The collected money is then redistributed among everyone in the country. This rewards people who are careful and wasteful people have to pay for the damage. Another panellist from the scot.e3 group talked about green jobs and just transformation. I also enjoyed listening to the panellist from the extinction rebellion.
