Everyday I Write The Book

Sports Day in an expanding universe

They were having a sports shirt for charity day in the office which I had forgotten about, but I made a donation anyway. The usual mix, mostly football, and for some reason one person wearing a Jordan Henderson face mask. Made for some good shots for the staff newsletter.

Today was definitely a 444 day (in numerology this means a day when the universe is trying to communicate with you in a "peace man, everything's cool" kind of way). To begin with we had light streaming into our bedroom through a narrow gap in the dormer window. It was one of those moments when the dust motes are laid out in front of you like a slice through the universe, a fragment of creation. Enchanting. Except TSM said that house dust consisted mostly of dead human skin cells, which was a bit less enchanting. Cool 'though.

We went to Guildford together by car. There was, coincidentally, a piece on the radio about how the universe is still expanding, and faster than previously thought. I speculated that maybe there was a god and s/he was just teasing us, by speeding it up and slowing it down at random. But then I wandered if our universe might just be composed of dead skin cells floating around in the bedroom of an enormous celestial being that we cannot comprehend.

Found a vegan sausage sandwich with brown sauce for sale on Guildford station. That really was a miracle and made me believe there might be a god after all. But at Leatherhead I passed a cuddly toy that had presumably fallen out of a child's buggy lying forlornly on a graffitied park bench, waiting to be rescued. At the point the universe seemed cruel again. Sigh.

Squeezed in lunch with The Dizzle, vegan pizza and fizzy water. Not at the same time of course, your pizza would go floppy.

Oh yeah the sun was shining today. Although later it rained. I suppose that's the nature of the universe. You have to take the rough with the smooth ...

Couple of extras - Jordan Henderson and the abandoned cuddly toy (and if that isn’t a good name for a band I don’t know what is).
