So Long Eskdale

One final run up the valley and swim in the beautiful River Esk before packing the car and heading home. Blip of Stanley falls which I'm sure would be lovely for a dip but health and safety thought not today as the rocks are rather slippy so best not on my own at 7am! Plus a swim nearer the lodge meant a shorter post swim run back to a warm shower.

At least heading out early meant I got the best of the weather, there was a cool breeze but the sun was shining and the river sparkling.

We had an easy journey back with a stop off for lunch at The Courtyard Cheese café outside Settle.

Back early afternoon gave me time for a cuppa and cake in the excellent Cellar Trust café, a trip to the library and asda, and an unpack if holiday things.

Sadly the end of a really lovely week away.
