Silly Blackbirds!

It’s been a lovely day here so I had a good wander around the garden with my camera...the first clematis has bloomed; several poppies dotted hither and thither; lots of butterflies fluttering about; a wasp building its nest on the old shed hubby is about to dismantle and lots of dandelion clocks!

As it’s Silly Saturday though the nesting blackbird gets its five minutes of fame...silly billies have built their nest atop the down pipe of the guttering behind the wisteria. It’s very sheltered and they’ve built a lovely des res.....BUT....hubby had to block up the rest of the gutter to stop them being flooded out or drowned whenever it rains!!

He had to sneak in whilst they were both absent, then hope they didn’t abandon the nest...he thinks there were about four eggs. So we should have little baby blackbirds within a couple of weeks :)
