Also rainy, windy, cold and long!

Storm Hannah passed close by overnight, battering at the ancient casement windows in the hostel. Debris from lineside trees was considerable but a bigger issue was an old oak which had fallen directly across the line, bringing a small avalanche of soil and rock with it. Clearance delayed the service trains by an hour .... but the Driver Experience that I was guarding was more disrupted eventually getting home at 8pm, two and a half hours late. Despite the foul weather and the troubles it brought a good day was had by all. I even had Ruth in the van with me for a while which was very special. Talyllyn ‘fun’!
