Spinning and diving like a cloud of starlings
Today supposedly the world was due to end... I am still here, so it didn't but frankly, if today looked like what the end of the world might look like, then it should happen more often.
It was gloriously sunny and mild, very much like early spring.
James and I went to Asda, to get the last of the Christmas bits and were expecting a nightmare with it being busy, we were pleasantly surprised.
We were in and out, laden with food goodies, in a little under an hour.
In the car park, lives a group of resident starlings, gorgeous little birds, who are brave so come fairly close to humans. Not brave enough to take little crumbs of bread from James' hand, but brave all the same.
They reminded me of a song that James and I listen too, by our favourite band Elbow.. it is entitled "Starlings" and is a beautiful song.
A starling sat beautifully in a tree, so I went to take a picture, but James frightened them off, luckily, seconds later they were back, and I grabbed this quick mobile phone shot... capturing the clear sky.
A great start to my 2 week annual leave from work....
